Heavy Slack Wax

Heavy Slack Wax is a byproduct of the lubricating oil refining process, containing a higher percentage of oil compared to fully refined paraffin wax. It is a semi-solid, waxy material with a higher viscosity and a darker color compared to Light Slack Wax due to its greater oil content. Heavy slack wax is commonly used in industrial applications where full refinement is not required.
Key Characteristics:
- Oil Content: Typically ranges from 20% to 35%, depending on the refining process.
- Melting Point: Generally between 55°C to 75°C.
- Appearance: Dark yellow to brown, soft, and greasy.
- Odor: Mild petroleum scent.
Applications:
Heavy slack wax is used in various industries, including:
- Rubber and Tire Industry: As a processing aid to improve elasticity and flexibility.
- Waterproofing and Coatings: Used in the production of moisture-resistant materials for wood, cardboard, and textiles.
- Candle Making: Mixed with paraffin wax to modify burning properties.
- Polish and Adhesives: Used in floor polishes, leather treatments, and industrial adhesives.
- Matches and Carbon Paper: Helps in lubrication and smooth application.
- Plywood and Particle Board Production: Acts as a binder and water-repellent agent.
