Light Slack Wax

Light Slack Wax is a semi-refined petroleum byproduct obtained during the process of lubricating oil production. It contains a mixture of oil and paraffin wax and has a lower oil content compared to heavy slack wax. Light slack wax is typically yellowish to brown in color, with a softer consistency due to its relatively higher oil content.
Key Characteristics:
- Oil Content: Generally ranges between 5% and 25%, depending on refining processes.
- Melting Point: Varies between 45°C to 65°C.
- Appearance: Soft, semi-solid, and slightly greasy texture.
- Odor: Mild petroleum-like scent.
Applications:
Light slack wax is widely used in various industries, including:
- Candle Manufacturing: As a blending agent to modify burning properties.
- Rubber and Tire Industry: Acts as a processing aid and softener.
- Plywood and Board Production: Used as a waterproofing and anti-sticking agent.
- Polish and Coating Industry: Used in formulations for wood, leather, and car polishes.
- Petroleum Jelly Production: As a raw material for further refining.
- Ink and Carbon Paper Manufacturing: Provides lubricating properties.
